Genetically Modified Cotton in ClothingGenetically modified organisms aren’t only found in our food supply, but they can also be found in the clothes we wear. Cotton is the most common type of fabric used to make clothes, sheets and towels, and cotton balls/cotton swabs. It is said to be unhealthy to wear these clothes because our skin absorbs 60% of what our skin comes into contact with. However, it is nearly impossible to determine what clothes are made with genetically modified cotton considering clothing manufacturers aren't required to tell consumers what type of cotton they use to produce their products.
